SynApps Solutions Hosts Timely Seminar on Vendor-Neutral Archives

London, UK – March 4th,  2013 – On March 15th , in Central London, SynApps Solutions, the content management solutions company, will host a much anticipated seminar on vendor-neutral archives, bringing NHS Trusts up to speed on new technology options that are now available to them.

The morning session, Beyond PACS: the Advantages of Vendor-Neutral Image Archiving, which SynApps will host in partnership with EMC, will bring together healthcare and IT professionals in a forum that will explore the role of vendor-neutral archives (VNAs). The session will discuss how to choose between different platforms, and highlight new opportunities to use the technology in support of broader content digitisation initiatives, now that NHS Trusts are no longer obliged to store medical images in the proprietary Connecting for Health archive.

Crucially, the event’s main speakers have hands-on experience of VNA projects.

Neil Taylor is a 20-year veteran of the NHS and a former NHS CEO who has spent the last decade working with FTSE 100 companies developing their healthcare offerings.

James Norman, director of IM&T at the Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals NHS Trust, will also present, drawing on his own experiences of deploying a vendor-neutral archive at the Trust.

Mark Winstone of enterprise content management (ECM) solution specialist, SynApps Solutions will then demystify the technology options available.

An optional session after lunch will go on to explore opportunities for Trusts to use VNA projects to drive the move to electronic medical records (EMRs) – and in such a way that content can be shared with external healthcare partners.

Commenting on the upcoming event, Mark Winstone, business director at SynApps, said, “We believe the move to VNAs presents an unprecedented opportunity for Trusts to deliver against a number of key priorities. What’s more, they can achieve this very affordably and efficiently now that their hands are no longer tied by restrictive and costly NHS technology specifications. This gives them a freedom to innovate which they didn’t have before, and the seminar will help to illustrate how.”
