SynApps Receives Key Information Security Kitemark

Content management leader SynApps Solutions confirms it’s met all the requirements for the industry ‘gold standard’ for professional information security management, BSI ISO/IEC 27001 2013

Maidenhead, UK, 15 October, 2015 – Content management leader SynApps Solutions is now fully certified to BSI ISO/IEC 27001 2013 standard – the highest category in terms of proven capability for the safe handling of client information.

ISO/IEC 27001 2013 is an internationally recognised best practice framework for any information security management system, helping to identify any and all potential risks to important information.

Receipt of the certification by independent adjudicators means that SynApps has been proven to have in place the right controls to help reduce risk plus ensure the highest levels of service for its customers.

Getting certification is also far from being a tick-box process, based instead on a major commitment from a candidate organisation. To meet the mark, process is based on a rigorous validation process by BCS Professionals who check if the necessary ISO/IEC 27001 procedures and controls have been developed.

Gaining ISO/ISE 27001 2013 status means that any SynApps customer can have full confidence that their data is protected to optimum security levels, while for SynApps as a company it delivers a range of benefits, including improved security, assurance of best practice, enhanced security awareness among staff, and improved security documentation and reporting.

SynApps has been a content management leader, since its formation at the start of the Millennium by former UK EMC Documentum senior executives. The firm has built a strong base for leading-edge content management solutions based on technology from leaders like EMC and Alfresco, in markets like the government, utilities and NHS. That means security is a key building block upon which its content management business depends, as it is all about protecting its assets, resources and people – and those of its clients.

Important market security drivers include traditional threats such as accidents, natural disasters and attacks by computer system hackers, but also new ‘threats’ such as increased government regulation and tougher requirements from industry.

“We are delighted to have received this accreditation,” comments SynApps Solutions’ Joint CEO, James Paton.

“We need robust systems in place for both our commercial and government clients. That’s why we went down the standards route – to achieve and demonstrate best practice and maintain the reputation for high quality services and innovative solutions we’ve built among our growing roster of enterprise and public sector clients.”
