SynApps Highly Commenced in ‘IT Project Team of the Year’ Awards for Mission-Critical Call Out

– SynApps engineers applauded for delivering an important Enterprise Content Management System – then going the extra mile by responding to holiday system issues –

Maidenhead, UK – March 12th , 2015 – SynApps Solutions, the Enterprise Content Management (ECM) solutions leader, with its customer UK Power Networks (UKPN), has come second in the prestigious 2014 UK IT Industry Awards in the ‘IT Project Team of the Year’ category.

One of the key elements in the partners’ success: an emergency call out. The system had been signed off by the customer on the 20th December 2013 – but that winter’s severe weather meant power supply challenges demanded an immediate response by SynApps to add a service to the website, despite the fact that the country was now celebrating the Christmas holiday.
To support UKPN’s helpdesk team help customers, the SynApps-led team from right across the globe –the UK, Italy and India – worked through Christmas Eve, developing a brand new fault map by 11am on Christmas Day.

The result was that customer service goals were met via a level of dedication that UK IT Industry Awards judges have just commended.

UK Power Networks owns and runs electricity delivery infrastructure in most of London, the South East and East of England.

To improve customer service and access to information, plus continue to meet regulatory obligations, the company needs to share important information with third parties and the general public in an open, timely and transparent manner.

This had led it in Q4 2013 to source an ECM platform from SynApps to manage all its content and collaboration needs.

UKPN’s SynApps-based ECM has also been recently recognised by the IT industry at Techworld’s Enterprise Project of the Year for the delivery of a suite of self-service tools for customers.  Also, the programme was recognised at the Utility Week awards for embracing the digital revolution

Meanwhile, its main website, a key deliverable of the ECM programme, was the winner of the 2013 Best Consumer Website award from CorpComms magazine.
