Challenges
The client needed to move away from legacy physical media storage and onto a modern, legally compliant digital repository with defined retention policies – eliminating the risks and limitations of storing recordings in an outdated, non-digital format.
The project’s standout element was its media digitisation capability, transforming how recorded content is captured, stored, and made searchable at scale.
Solution
SynApps delivered end-to-end content search and transcription capabilities, improved authentication model with OpenText Directory Services, supported by automated workflows and the ability to export content to physical media on demand. The platform itself was progressively upgraded across xCP, Documentum 20.2, and most recently 24.2, keeping the solution current with the latest capabilities.
The solution supports up to 8,000 potential users, including all public workers across all stations, delivered via a web-based platform managing more than 20TB of data.
Project Success
Moving from a manual, physical-media-based process to a fully digital system dramatically reduced the time and cost of searching for and retrieving recordings. Content is now stored in a tamper-proof digital format, with hash values compared against originals to guarantee authenticity and prevent modification – all while meeting legal retention and compliance obligations that were difficult to enforce under the previous analogue approach.
The SynApps Difference
As a long-standing partner, we brought both a trusted relationship and deep expertise in content digitisation – critical for an organisation looking to transform how it captured and preserved its recorded content.
